This Little Piggy Retiring Stamp Set

This Little Piggy Stamp Set

Ok, why would something so cute ever retire??? Yes, we are always excited to see the fun, new, and exciting stamps sets that Stampin' Up! will have out soon, but still,  do we have to say goodbye to this stamp set?? This stamp set was a hit the moment it came out in the catalog. It's been so popular, I thought this one would make it another round in to the new catalog. I was wrong though, so here's saying goodbye. I have several cards to show you, here is the first one I made.

Isn't this piggy just adorable? Dang. So, this card is a very simple card to make. I used Whisper White cardstock for the base. Layered the Crumb Cake cardstock on and then the Lemon-Lime Twist green cardstock on top, after running the green cardstock thru an embossing folder to get the cute dots and tying the ribbon around the green cardstock first. Then a layer of black cardstock. I stamped the happy piggy on to the white cardstock and colored with Petal Pink Stampin" Blends Markers. The Stampin Blends work so well for stamp sets like this one, but you could also use the watercolor pencils or the Stampin Write regular markers for this. And, don't forget the rhinestone I put in the center of the flower, for an added touch.

Are you ready for some more samples? Here's some more cards to get your creative juices flowing. Some of these cards, I made at fun events I've gone to, and some are from friends or card swaps I've done.

In the card above, the pink piggy is just stamped and then fussy cut out by hand. So cute!

For the next card, the clouds were made using the White Embossing Paste, with the Pattern Party Decorative Mask. These decorative masks are retiring as well. Just lay the mask on top of your cardstock and spread the paste using a palette knife, remove the mask and let the paste dry. Then, fussy cut a piggy out by hand and color, and layer on top.

The Pink card below, uses the Layering Squares dies, to make the scalloped square.

The cute blue card below, uses the Stitched Shapes dies, for the ovals. The piggy, and the background, are colored with the Stampin Blends and then the piggy is painted with Champagne Shimmer Paint.

This last card, is a half-fold card. It uses the beautiful subtles 6x6 DSP paper pad, which, of course, is also retiring. Then it uses two different dies, the Layering Circles dies, for the largest circle, and the Stitched Shapes dies, for the circle with the piggy stamped on it. There is also a Pearlized Doily, layered between the two circles. And, you guessed it, the doilies are also retiring. And, then don't forget to add the rhinestones.

So many things are retiring, and they are only available while supplies last, so take a moment to check them out, and see which ones are discounted and which ones you hate to see go.
